What companies beside Lionel make O-guage locomotives & rolling stock?

One that I know about that is out of business is Marx.  Marx trains are available used.

Bassett-Lowke (UK), ETS (Czech Republic), and many others. Many British manufacturers make kits for '0' gauge locos and rolling stock.

I suggest you get hold of a magazine like Railway Modeller, or Continental Modeller (link to publisher below) and browse the advertisers' sections and the review pages.
