how can i trick an o2 sensor to not throw a code. I have aftermarket headers on my 1996 honda civic ex 2 dr d16y8....

  1. This is an interesting question since you didn't specify what code the PCM is storing.

    The O2 sensor itself couldn't care less if it is in a header or cast iron manifold. Unless you are trying to say that you are running without an 02 sensor.

    If you are running without an 02 sensor in the header, I strongly encourage you to have a hole drilled into the header and an 02 sensor boss installed so you can put the sensor in. You are really compromising performance not having it in there.

    If you are running an 02 sensor and it is setting a code, then something has happened. Either the sensor got damaged during the swap (not always visible) or you have done other modifications along with the headers that is causing the sensor to send skewed signals to the PCM


  2. re-flash the pcm, adjust the air/fuel mixture,or buy after market o2 sensor upgrade

  3. You will need to install the O2 sensor, it primary job is to sniff the exhaust gas and make adjustment to the fuel injectors.
