OLD phone?

ok i am geting one of thoughs wall phones that has a crank and has no dial well i got a coulple of books how to repair it and all but is there a way i can make a call with out a dial like are there any operators realy around any more that do that or will i just ge t the dial tone and i will get that stupid recording or what

no your old phone requires a ground and the new phones and the way that there wired now don't have grounds.good luck
