Can pro football players take part in the olympic games....playing for the uk????

The UK don't enter a team in the Olympics for soccer.

NO and UK do not play in the olympic because the IOC go that if you want to play in olympic soccer you must ago as UK but if they go like that they have to go to FIFA tournoment .e.g euros and FIFA world cup as UK but they dont want to :)

YES !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its that the uk or GB do not put in a team. In the games these days you can only play 2 or 3 player over the age of 23 so it is not a full on comp like a world cup. The Olympics is ment to be for amateur  sports but obviously most sports these days are professional. So yes DB and Stevie G could all play in 2012 if you have a GB team as long as the rest of the players are u23. Its a mickey mouse comp for the footy guys if you ask.
