where do you get the herpes?? its disgusting. is that aids or something?

how do u know if u got the herpes and not pimples? 0.o

They are like pimples in or around your genital area that are painful. You find out about them by going to you doctor if you suspect you have then. If you notice bumps in your genital area you haven't had before, see your doctor..There is no cure for herpes, only medicine to help the symptoms. And you can spread it at anytime......So, have safe s*x.......

It's not disgusting 1 in 5 Americans have herpes. You get herpes from having unprotected s*x.  Grrr.... I feel like telling you to grow up.

the more common places to get herpes is on the mouth and on the genitals. there are two strains of herpes, these are known as HSV1 (oral herpes or cold sores, occurs on the mouth and face) and genital herpes is also known as (HSV2). herpes and aids are NOT related, herpes is totally different from aids.

u would know from the symptoms. yes it looks kind of gross but that is just the disease, people that have herpes are usually not disgusting.

symptoms for the oral type (HSV1):

burning, itching and or tingling sensations all at one spot on the mouth. then a blister, cut or sore like thing appears.

symptoms for the genital type (HSV2):

u would feel like your getting the beginning of the flu with a fever and achy muscles. some people experience lower back pain.

itching, burning and tingling sensations occur under the skin of the genitals.

swollen genitals

burning or trouble when peeing

blisters, open sores or cut like things appear on the genitals

Herpes is disgusting.  Only reckless and careless people get herpes.

The only people that will tell you that it isn't nasty are people who already have it.  Go to wikipedia and read about it.  There is a lot that you need to know about it.  Too muc to write.  Many people on Yahoo Answers will tell you false info.  The only way to know if you have it is to get tested at a doctor's office.

There are two main types of herpes.  Herpes simplex type1 and type 2.  Type 1 is usually associated with the mouth, type 2 with the genital area.  It won't kill you, though it will cause you to break out in blisters.  After contracting either type, your body will produce antibodies after six weeks that will stop you from reinfecting yourself, or someone else re-infecting you.  So, if you get type 1 of the mouth, during that six weeks, you can re-infect youself while shaving.  Or, if you have an outbreak and touch a sore, if you touch somewhere else on your body, such as your genitals, you will contract, genital herpes, type 1.  You can also get oral herpes type 2, in addition to type 1, if you perform oral s*x on someon with genital herpes type two.  

Condoms will not completely protect you from the disease since parts of the body not covered by the condom can rub against the infected individual.  Plus, if they are not having an outbreak, you do not know where the infected spots are located on their body.  Herpes is a skin-to-skin transmission type disease.

Though it is skin-to skin, it can be transmitted by skin-surface-skin contact.  For example, sharing a drinking glass or towel.

Herpes, type 1 and 2, can be passed on to others at any time, whether the infected person is having an outbreak or not.  There is no cure, just antiviral medication to help treat/prevent outbreaks.
