ORD Terminals?

I heard that when you at the O'Hare airport In Chicago you can take the shuttle bus from terminal 2 to terminal 1, that way you dont have to go through security again. But when I looked at the airport map, it looks like you'll have to go through it again.

Also, If anyone has ridden an airplane from Chicago to Honolulu HI please send me a message, I have a few questions.

  1. There is a bus that allows you to go from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1.  The bus departs Gate E3 from Terminal 2 and arrives at Gate C9 Terminal 1.

  2. If you take the bus from Term 2 to Term 1 you do NOT have to go out through security and back in again.  I can't remember exactly which gate it's at, but someone in the airport can help you.  Depending on what gate you come into, and how long your connection is, you may want to just walk it.  Especially since you will be sitting on a plane for 8 or so hours from ORD to Hawaii.  Feel free to email me any questions.  I'm a flight attendant based out of ORD.

  3. No, you don't have to go through security again if you take the bus. The reason for the bus is so that connecting passengers can avoid going through security between connecting flights.  Travelers don't like having to clear security again between connections and and airlines don't want travelers to miss their flights while they're waiting in line for security.

The bus goes between two gates in Terminals 1 and 2. The security checkpoints are located at the very end of the concourses before before you enter the gate areas. Therefore, you don't have to re-clear security if you use the bus.
