who do you think has the most potential to be a huge star in the NBA?

Brandon Roy

Rudy g*y

Kevin Durant

Andrew Bynum

Al Thorton

I chose players with at least a year of experience because I want to see what they are capable of doing early in the league.

Rank the players from 1-5 and have a reason why you ranked them in that order.

12 ANSWERS

  1. 1. Roy- he has already established himself as a leader on a young team that's going to be scary good, and will lead with his knowledge and experience.

    2. g*y- he is an absolute athletic freak and if he ever gets a better team around him has the potential to be very very good for years to come.

    3. Thornton- once again, an athletic freak stuck on a bad team. what you saw from year one and from his last year at florida state was a kid with brilliant potential and the ability to become a major star.

    4. Durant- an explosive scorer, but not strong or quick enough for the NBA game as of yet. he has some work to do, but more than the others on this list.

    5. Bynum- I'm not sold on Bynum as of yet. he's shown flashes of potential, including this last year, but i'm not sure he can sustain it. he will constantly get more credit than he deserves being on a team with kobe and pau. he wont be getting the same defensive looks as when he played without pau. anyone should score 15 or more points with the easy looks hes getting from pau and kobe being double teamed. and it's not because he is any better, just the shots are easier.

  2. 1. Brandon Roy- rising star with good all around skills and a promising young team to lead. Definitely a future all-star.

    2. Kevin Durant- if they keep surrounding him with the same players that they have right now then that leaves them with only one option to win the game. Pass the ball to Kevin. It just sucks if they shut him down then there goes the game.

    3. Rudy g*y- had a big improvement last season. He will be one of their go-to guys in memphis. I still see him being able to improve more in the later years.

    4. Al Thorton- I dont really see him as a star but as a role player. Nevertheless he will still be a valuable player.

    5. Andrew Bynum- hm... cant really give him full credit yet due to his injury. Maybe if he continues where he left off last season and still improves more then I would move him at least before Al Thorton. Talented big men are hard to find nowadays in the NBA.

  3. 1. Kevin Durant - In his first year, he averaged 20.3ppg, 4.4rpg, 2.4apg, 1spg, and 0.9bpg in 80 games for the then Seattle Supersonics. Isn't he dubbed as the next Michael Jordan?

    2. Andrew Bynum - In his third season, he averaged 13.1ppg, 10.2rpg, 1.7apg, 0.3spg, and 2.1bpg in 35 games for the renaissance Lakers. His productivity was cut-short because of an season-ending injury. His age is one crucial factor that ranks him 2nd but obviously he is second to Durant.

    3. Rudy g*y - In his second season, he averaged 20.1ppg, 6.2rpg, 2.0apg, 1.4spg, and 1bpg in 81 games for the short in talent Grizzlies. He has better upside than Roy that's why he is ranked 3rd.

    4. Brandon Roy - In his second year after being named the Rookie of the Year in 2006-2007 season, he averaged 19.1ppg, 4.7rpg, 5.8apg, 1.1spg, and 0.2bpg in 74 games. He was already named an all-star but don't expect this guy to improve that much anymore. We all love his play, but that's it. He is just a productive, solid player. All-star type but not superstar. And so is g*y above.

    5. Al Thornton - In his rookie year, he averaged 12.7ppg, 4.5rpg, 1.2apg, 0.6spg, and 0.5bpg in 79 games for the short-handed Clippers. Obviously, he has the least credentials among them. He was already a 24 year old rookie and is expected to produce right away. Personally, I think he will be a solid player in the league but that's it. I can imagine him, giving him a chance, to be an all-star at least once in his career.

  4. 1 brandon roy

    2 kevin durrant

    3 andrew bynum

    4 al thorton

    5 rudy g*y

  5. This is based on potential, not what they've done already.

    1. Kevin Durant. If his shooting is like it was in college and he adjusts to NBA threes, he could be a scoring champion. And he could be great on defense in the same way as Tayshaun Prince because he has the size to guard anyone.

    2. Rudy g*y. Had superstar potential coming out of college, but was still pretty raw. He's adjusted perfectly to the NBA though.

    3. Brandon Roy. He already looks like he'll be a superstar. Great passer, shooter, and defender.

    4. Andrew Bynum. Could be a dominant center. Still kind of raw. Needs to improve post moves and post defense.

    5. Al Thorton. Could be a great player, but doesn't have the upside of the other four guys.

  6. 1. Roy- his team is gonna be the next Spurs and dominate the West along side the Hornets and Lakers

2.g*y- cant mature since there are no older players with sucessful playoff experience on the team

    3. Durant- turn into a version of Kobe after Shaq left, ball hog and media crazy

4.Bynum- hes my pick because if he hadnt gotten injured, i think the Lakers would have been a threat to the Celtics

    5. Thorton- hes done. no talent. no specialties. no "wow" factor. a complete dud

  7. I think Brandon Roy gonna be biggest star of those 5..

    1. Roy - because he played very well last year and has great team for future

    2. Bynum - because i mean he is with Kobe and gonna be probably best team next few year ....plus he is gonna be one of the Best Centers in future

    3. Durant - because he is great player with S****y team and probably gonna be 1 man show lol..

    4. g*y - High Flyer

    5. Al - because he gonna be supporting cast for while i think with Baron and others

  8. Kevin Durant.... He can play any position on the floor, all he needs is some more muscle... But then, LeBron wasnt as huge like he is now when he first came into the leauge, so theres gonna be a chance KD does the same.... He can shoot from anywhere, long enough to post up, can fadeaway, proved he can hit the big shots (against denver), he can dribble, pass, and definitely rebound... I havent seen his defense, but if he gets enough help on offense im sure he would be able to exert more energy defensively

  9. brandon roy he  the only one their who made the allstar team

  10. kevin durant

  11. brandon roy - hes already portlands "leader" and has shown such maturity for someone so young. he can score, pass, rebound and play good defense, and hes only just begun!

kevin durant - his rookie season was number wise great, possibly because he was on a team where he was immedietly the number one man but any rookie who can do that is showing huge potential.

    rudy g*y - EXPLOSIVE

bynum - hasnt proven much to me yet. everyone saying hes a centre of the future but hes got nothing on ming, amare, howard or even al jefferson. hes got a long way to go before hes above them.

al thornton - to be honest i havent paid all that much attention to him. number wise he is only ok to good. ive seen him a bit and he shows potential but also shows potential to be a wash out.

  12. I think brandon roy would because he led his team to a very improved record and he actually played in last year's all star game. I think kevin durant has the second most potential because he played phenomenal and was rookie of the year. I think andrew bynum is third because he showed a little potential of what could be the best power forward in the league. I think rudy g*y is fourth cause he was the grizzlies second best player (gasol first). i think thorton is last cause he played good but not good enough to compare to these other 4.
