Okay, I've been practicing for weeks now and i want to make an officer position on my dance team....but here is the problem...they are trying something new this year and are making all of the officer candidates write a speech....(a small one under a minute) we have to talk about why we want to be an officer, how we can motivate our team, and how we can help our team to be successful.....then the whole team votes and scores us for our dedication, personality, and leadership....please! i am not good at speaking in from of people and dont have many ideas....please help....

  1. just relax! i used to hate giving speeches & stuff but once i learned to calm myself down, i did a better job & i wasn't as nervous! as for the actual speech, just write about what u know! explain that u will b a good leader becuz ... and u can motivate them becuz ... (for example: u will b a good leader becuz u never give up & u can encourage ppl well!) i am really sorry if that did not help all that well, but just don't b nervous & do the best u can!

best of luck! hope i helped!

  2. You should think about why YOU dance, and what motivates YOU. Then, you could convert that to your speech. Let's pretend that the joy f performing is what motivates you. You could turn that into "All of us are great dancers, and everyone has something that motivates them. What motivates me is the joy of performing. So if I became the officer of this dance team, I would make sure that we performed at every opportunity that we get," or something like that. Remember, if you really love dancing, which I'm guessing you do, then you'll be able to relate to other people and understand what their needs are. I'm sure  you'll do great. Good Luck!!

  3. Focus on emphasizing a few good points about yourself, such as:

    -Your dedication toward the team

    -Your experience

-Your passion toward the actual sport

And if I were voting on an officer, I'd want them to throw in some comedy (it makes them more "friendly" sounding). GOOD LUCK!!

  4. lol i just answered your other one. check it out. =)
