  1. Well, i guess that depends on how old you are.  The question is, WHY?

Have you not been watching what our president is doing to our military, he thinks were all expendable.

Sorry my friend, i wouldn't do it...but that is only my opinion.

Our government is trying to recruit anyone and everyone, cuz there desperate right now for people.  You can go anywhere and sign up!

  2. ROTC is the best way.

There are too many ways to list here. There are tons of different programs leading to a commission.

  3. If you have no college or up to two years of college go ROTC. They have ROTC for Army, Air Force, Navy (Marine Corps).

I was an officer in the Army so thats all I can speak for, but most branches are similiar.

If you already have two years of college, the summer before you can go to LTC (Leadership Training Camp) at Ft. Knox for 4 weeks then you can go dirrectly to the MSIII (Military Science Junior) class of ROTC, between your Junior and Senior year you go to NALC (Nationial Advanced Leadership Camp) at Ft. Lewis Washington. If you have no college, you go threw the MSI and MSII classes and do not have to go to LTC.

OCS is if you already have your degree. You can enlist with a OCS Option in which you would go to basic training then dirrectly to OCS. If you fail OCS you would have to choose an enlisted MOS and fullfil your contract.

Dirrect Commission: you can get this if you are a Doctor, or Lawer, ect.

A battlefield commission has not been awarded since Vietnam. From World War I to the Vietnam conflict, over 31,200 soldiers, Marines, and airmen have been awarded battlefield commissions.

So there isnt really a best way, it all depends where you are at with you education. As you are probably aware you need to have a 4 year degree. If you havent started college or have little college ROTC. If your not close to a ROTC College or university, then OCS. The other two ways (Dirrect and Battlefield) pretty much are not an option unless if your a Dr. or Lawer, ect.

If your going the Nationial Guard, they offer Dirrect commissions to some other branches IE Infantry, Field Artillery, ect. If you are a SSG and have completed BNCOC, and have outstanding NCOER's and a GT on your asvab of 110 or higher.

  4. THE QUICKEST AND LESS PAINFUL IS THROUGH ROTC. THERE IS ANOTHER WAY. WHEN IN THE SERVICE, THERE ARE OFFICER CANDIDATE SCHOOLS. YOU CAN ALSO EARN A BATTLEFIELD COMMISSION. BUT THOSE ARE RARE.
