I have an old speaker system and it's supposed to be used with a computer but I was wondering if it could be used with a PS3 or home theater system.

  1. Yes, you can hook directly to your PS3 or you can connect to pre-out or program-out on a surround receiver. Here's a wiring diagram. You will need to convert your plugs on the speakers to RCA with adaptors available from Radio Shack.

Here's some info about your speakers:

  2. If it was supposed to be a computer speaker system then it should be powered. It'll work with a PS3 but I wouldn't hook it up to a stereo system. It should have a fixed (line level) input. Your stereo won't do that (except for the sub output) and you'll likely blow the speakers.
