Question:

Old recurring dream ?

I've been having this dream that happens almost every year. So far I've had it 3 times.

The first time, I saw this lake with a huge island in the middle of it. On that lake was a demolished castle or fort. The island was covered with grass and some c**p from the walls of the castle. Then I heard someone say "Ok let's go check out the island". I look to the person who is speaking and it is a guy in a rowboat. I don't know who he is, and I start walking towards him. Then the dream ended.

Next year the dream pretty much continued. I was on the rowboat with the guy. Somehow once we got there the lake that the island was at overflowed causingthe island to be unseen. I could still see the walls of the castle or fort, but no island. Then the dream ended again.

Does anyone know anything about this?

The third year it was strange. I was in a hotel room with my family. My younger brother went over to the window and I followed him. He then exclaimed " look! it's fort (I forgot what he said it was)!" So I looked over to where he was pointing and saw the island with the castle or fort thing.I looked around and noticed the guy from the last two dreams was gone. That's where the dream ended.

  1. Answer a few questions for me, and if you don't mind, email me and let me know you have answered them.  Or, answer by email if you like.

    How old are you?

Have you noticed if this dream happens at a certain time of year or season?  (Like when school starts back, or when your family visits a certain place, or around a holiday, etc.)  If so, what event does it coincide with?

  2. dreams dont mean ****. they are your imagination and/or memories floating in your mind.

  3. The "island with fort" is often mentioned in old legends (King Arthur e.g.) and often used to represent some hallowed 'resting place' or hidden treasure. The oarsman in rowboat is questionable: he could be a spiritual guide, or Chiron, who conveys people's souls to the underworld.

Water rising could be seen as some implacable force denying access to some goal. Whatever you may feel is distasteful and unfavorable, there it is! It is changeable and fluid, and so is not the obstacle it seems to you.

The seasonable, recurring aspect is still a mystery to me: you didn't mention which part of the year governs the dream, or what personal significance it represents. Check this out.
