Olympics in Brisbane?

Pretty sure I've heard or read somewhere that Brisbane is putting together a bid for the 2020 Games, is this true and if so what is being done about it

Yes i have heard the same.

It the games come to brisbane I would go to some Paralympic games.

It would be better then the American having the games in 2016

This is correct. The idea was first stated by Beattie and is supported by Bligh - they are looking towards putting in a bid from 2020 onwards, although 2020 would be pretty awesome.

I do hope they do get it in one of those, as being there is just utterly awesome! Everyone gave SOCOG no end of trouble and for the entire build up it was all doom and gloom - but I didn't run into anyone who was not having a blast!

I am almost certain that if they get it, I will be there again!

There's about a dozen countries expected to put a bid in. But the IOC apparently thinks an African country should be considered. Sorry mates!

Yes I have heard that rumour but bidding would be a shocking waste of money considering Australia only had the Games in 2000 and time surpassed would be just 20 years. They would never get it.

The Gold Coast city council have announced their going to put in a bid without Brisbane

i havent heard this i hope its true but i dont think brisbane would get it, wouldnt a place like Melbourne get in becuase they would sell more tickets and stuff there
