I bought my system 3-4 months ago. The foot pedal has given no end of grief. It was working intermittently, but now, after talking to Mike and Jeremy on the help line, it is not working at all. Customer service says to send it away to be repaired, that's the kind of service they are offering on this new product. I'm not happy about that. If I had time to fiddle with it, and then send it away, I wouldn't have bought it in the first place. My other one worked for ten years or more. Maybe this company just doesn't stand behind its products.
I upgraded my Olympus 4000 to the 5000 model handheld digital dictating machine; and as recommended upgraded the old RS 25 pedal to new RS 27 pedal and also installed the new software from the included CD. Result is that the transcription program will not recognize the pedal even though Windows says the pedal device is working. Tried two different pedals on 2 different computers (running Windows 2000 and Windows XP) then tried the old RS 25 pedal again on both computers and no result. Tried several different USB ports with no result. Tried re-installing the software, no result. I'm assuming the new software should have included the correct drivers but can't find any info on the internet regarding driver updates.
I may have to go back to the old software and old pedal.
