Olympus D-460?

Question

My Dad gave me his Olympus D-460 camera, but the batteries (Sunbeam) I put in them don't last very long at all with the LCD monitor on.

Are there certain types of batteries that work better with this camera?

It looks like it came with lithium batteries but they're proprietary and I don't know if regular lithium AA batteries will work.  You could also try nickel metal hydride AAs.
