I need the shortcuts for cut and paste. For example to undo something you have to press Ctrl Z. But what do you have to put in to cut and paste quickly.

  1. Sometimes it is better to use right button of mouse than shortcut keys, depends on what you are doing at the time but if you have taken the trouble to drag your mouse over text to highlight it then rather than take fingers off the mouse to use keyboard keys, just change to right button and the sub menu comes up. And since some people have been giving you lists of what some of the control keys can do, Ctrl Yis to redo if you have undone by mistake. There are literally hundreds of shortcut keys you can use, and I suggest you just try going through the keys of the keyboard in conjunction not only with Ctrl key but  Ctrl Shift, Ctrl Alt and also Shift Alt and you will find some very useful things.

  2. ctrl + x = cut

    ctrl + v = paste

    ctrl + c = copy

  3. cntrl + a= highlight

    cntrl + c = copy

    cntrl + v= paste

  4. Ctrl+Z is for undo last action seeing no one else has mentioned it.

  5. CNTRL + C = copy

    CNTRL + V = Paste

    CNTRL + X = Cut

    CNTRL + A = Select all

    === + Enter = Double line

    ~~~ + Enter = wavvy line
    --- + Enter = Single line
    ### + Enter = Double hashed line
    +---+-----+  + Enter = Table with two cells
  6. JD is correct except that Ctrl + A is select everything - not highlight
    If you want to learn the shortcut for any particular command in Office 2007 just hover your pointer over the command and a tool tip will come up telling you the shortcut. In previous versions of Office the shortcuts were written next the menu line command
  7. It has always been Ctrl X for Cut, Ctrl C for copy, Ctrl V for paste since Windows began, pretty much.
