If you are speeding, and a police car is coming in the opposite direction, can they do you for speeding? Or wouldn't they have enough evidence?

  1. sometimes depends on the road and many radars are fixed distance

  2. radar will get you

  3. yes he can still get you for speeding if he has his radar set on u.

thats all the evidence he needs.

dont forget some patrols have radars in the rear window so they can get you as you approach them from behind, that happened to me!

    =(

  4. Yes, I have been clocked (and ticketed for speeding...) by a police car driving towards me in the opposing lane.

Modern speed radars are aware of how fast the police vehicle is traveling.

When clocking an oncoming vehicle, the combined speed of the subject and the police vehicles is read. The speed radar simply subtracts the speed of the police vehicle, revealing the speed of the subject vehicle.

This works very well in situations like single-lane two-way streets. It mostly doesn't work across multiple lanes, center islands, or divided roadways.

As far as "evidence" goes, you might be watching a little too much CSI. There really isn't such a thing as "evidence" in traffic court. It's basically your word against the officer's. And keep in mind the officer, and the judge, has heard every single lame excuse in the book.

If the officer estimated your speed (which they're trained to do), and you contest the estimation, you might get off. If the officer *measured* your speed with radar, you lose. There's no contesting the equipment; it never lies.

If it's your FIRST speeding ticket, you can claim "no same or similar", which is basically telling the judge "double or nothing"; a form of traffic court probation. If you get your act together, and don't get another (same or similar) violation within a period of time, your ticket is thrown out. Conversely, if you s***w up and get another (same or similar) violation, you'll be charged for *both* tickets at once.

  5. Direction does not impede radar devices, he has you cold turkey, before the court date tell them to reschedule do to a doctors appointment for example.................odds are the officer may be away catching more speeders...................no tguilty you are off the hook

  6. yep they have radar you can fight it though threw the courts

  7. yes radar can judge your speed and it is admisable in court
