Question:

Online aerofoil profiles?

i am building a little (no bigger than a foot) glider with a little motor. it is not going to go very fast so i need an aerofoil profile that works optimally at low speeds.

Induced drag(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/image:... on most aerofoils decreases with speed, and so that is my main problem. i need the best lift and the lowest induced drag at the lowest speed.

can you provide a link to a list of good aerofoils, or maybe provide (x,y) co-ordinates so i can plot it out.

i have come across a site, http://www.pdas.com/avd.htm... that has thousands of aerofoils in co-ordinate (x,y) form, but like i said, i dont know which one to use. thanks for any help.

  1. This NASA site lets you see choices with results

    http://www.grc.nasa.gov/WWW/K-12/airplan...

    this one treats model wings

if the national air model organization is still around (from my youth) they should have something

    found it

  2. A glider with an engine isn't a glider. You would be better off building a few kits first and studying Aeronautical Engineering before trying to design an aerofoil without any knowledge.
