  1. There are several different on-line schools even some public charter schools. If you are old enough to stay by yourself your mom does not have to be home with you no matter what type of homeschooling you choose to do. You should be able to use the internet and other resources to complete your work. Your mom should be more of an adviser at this time. you should know by now how you learn the best look into curriculum's or just go to your local library and investigate the best curriculum for you. Then if you want to go through an on-line school find one that suits your learning style.

  2. there are programs on line for home schooling, I tryed them with my daughter, what I found out is that they really dont teach you much but how to get around learning and just to the answering the question. the program we stopped using would let her keep clicking on the answers till she got the correct one, found out when we got the report card and the 100%s she was telling us she got were more in the nighboe hood of 5 and 10 %. anyhow i rambeling they exist just choose wisely

  3. Yes, there are online schools. Some are quite rigourous and demand that you do a lot of offline work which you then submit through the computer. K12 and Connections Academy are both free, if available where you live, and are public/charter schools, so they meet state standards. Keystone is a popular one for those not using K12 or Connections Academy. It is a private school, however, so you'd have to pay.

  4. We use K12, which we chose for its rich and rigorous curriculum.  There is a lot of the schooling done online, particularly for high school, but not everything is done online.

You can find general information here:

And specific high school information here:

Depending on where you live, you may even be able to homeschooling using K12 for free. Many states offer the curriculum through a "virtual" public school, where state funding pays for the materials and curriculum.

Schooling at home isn't taking the "easy" way out, though.  Be prepared to work hard and take charge of your schooling.  It is very rewarding to do though, because you will accomplish your goals on your own terms, which is very satisfying.

Good luck on your homeschooling adventure.
