Online typing punctuation?

After a full stop, how many spaces should I leave to start the next sentence, 1 or 2?

the rule is: 1 space after a comma, colon(unless you're using it for time), semicolon.

2 spaces after period, exclamation point, or question mark.

It's not as important on-line, but in my regular work, I always put 2 spaces after a period (or full stop.)  Mostly though, this is a style issue.

its easier to just do 1 space. 2 spaces sometimes looks like a bit much depending on the font and everything. 1 space looks more natural.

Online it doesn't really matter, however in a rel life situation, alway put 2 spaces after a full stop(:
