  1. Check the balance on the Volume Control > Mic

  2. Try checking if the other speaker actually works by moving the audio balance bar to the other side.

If it doesnt then you will have to replace the speaker. If it does, then try balancing the slider for both of them to work. At times the clarity could be compromised because of over usage or power fluctuations.

So adjust the slider such that the audio seems balanced out.

  3. Its the download. Was in stereo but only played the left track. Sound card is just reproducing the sound you downloaded and nothings wrong with the card. I bet you aren't hearing stereo on your ipod. Just playing it on both sides of the headphones in mono. Why would you expect to get stereo playback on both sides when you said yourself that the download only showed activity on the left side??? It was a bogus download and you can play around all you want but you aren't gonna make that right channel appear because--it isn't there!!

  4. Probably the original source you're trying to record was mono instead of stereo.

  5. No, I'm guessing it's the balance.

Double click the speaker icon and check the main volumes, and the balances on all of the levels.

Make them all the exact middle.

If this doesn't work, check all the cables to make sure they are aligned properly.

If both of these don't work, Right click My Computer>Properties>Hardware>Device Manager

Look for sound, find your card, and update the driver to the latest one.

If it doesn't even pop up, it's broken.
