  1. In theory, Peru does require either a return or an onward ticket. However, your problem is more likely to be boarding the flight in Canada than any difficulty with immigration in Peru as often the airlines are aware of the rules and won't let you board (if you are refused entry for any reason at all, they have to bear the cost of returning you to Canada) - the immigration staff are more used to people entering by plane, leaving by bus, etc. so rarely give people hassle on this.

Not all flight tickets are refundable and so in order to get a refund you will have to make sure you buy a fully-refundable onward ticket - it will be more expensive but it's the only way you can be sure of getting your money back. So long as it is a full-refund ticket the airline won't give you any problems and it won't have cost you anything in the end.

    Hope this all helps.

  2. sorry....whats an onward?

  3. Peru doesn't require both an onward and return ticket, one or the other is fine. As for your other questions it would be best to contact the airline you plan on using as they afford you with more accurate information and step by step instructions.
