Open/closing diaplay problem

Question

I have a Motorola w490, and it works fine until i flip it closed. then when i open it all i get is a blank white screen. when i manually turn off the power and then power it back on it works like normal again until i close it. then when i flip it open, i get the same thing again, a blank white screen.
