Opinions on this table...or suggestions?

I'm looking for a high quality pool table, but I also need something with a rustic or southwestern appearance. Does anyone know whether this table fits the bill as far as quality, or have a suggestion as to any other possibilities.

  1. I'd have no problem recommending Golden West tables, they're all very well made with all the features I'd recommend.  Oversized backed slate, at least 1".  Solid construction.  Good rails.  The only thing that would concern me in the slightest, is that this table is made of pine.  Pine is a very soft wood.  But I doubt that will give you too much trouble over the course of your life.  The one thing is, this table has a very specific look.  It's made to fit into a specific decor, and it won't transfer readily if you decide to remodel or refurnish the room in a different style, aside from that, I'd say go for it, if that's what floats your boat.  As an alternative I put a link below to a nice Connelly, it's a mission style, very Southwest, more so than the pine even, in it's traditional design.

  2. Brunswick are the best tables but they are expensive usually.

That table looks to be in good shape.  Any table that has good live rails and all 6 pockets though in my mind is a great table once you get it up and level it out.

I also like the look of the Montana table you showed.  The slate being an inch thick will alsp be good and vital in leveling and staying strong.

If you get one, just a few tips.

Do not let anyone eat or drink on it.

Do not let anyone sit on it.

And if you can, get a cover for it so you can cover it up when it is not in use to protect from a drip or something.
