Why do some people feel that global warming has nothing to do with humans or pollution?

I always thought we were overheating the atmosphere or something like that.

  1. i can't decide. i don't know if the sun is causing it or not.  But i do believe that us humans are ruining itby polluting. Even if we aren't SAVE THE PLANET!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Some people believe that over the course of time the planet has heated and cooled on a cyclical basis or that there is no way man could impact global climate simply by using fossil fuels, and still others believe that God controls everything.

Basically until the scientific community has consensus who knows what to believe.

  3. The earth has been around for over 43 millions years, long before humans. I seriously doubt we are damaging it.  It got along fine before us and will continue without us.

If anything, China is the one who should be screwed for pollution.

  4. Global warming is a cult/religion whose followers believe we are overheating the earth.  Those of us who aren't part of this religion and haven't seen the science to prove it (because there is none) don't believe them.  Until/unless they come up with some validity to their claim I'm part of the second group.  The expense of fighting it will bankrupt nations, so it'd better be real before we start spending money to fix it.

  5. I'm still waiting to see some hard, scientific evidence that supports 'man-did-it' global warming...... not..... "we think"....or "it may"....or...." good chance".......or .... "could have some impact"......... ad nauseum.

  6. watch this video it is very complete in the explanation and the cure as well.

  7. pollution, while not nice, is not the main problem.

the main problem is that, the energy we get from the sun is pretty constant.

however the energy that is radiated back away from the earth, into space, has declined.

    that leaves the earth hotter.

it's kind of like putting an extra blanket on you in the winter to keep you warm.

however, in the summer, that same blanket is not all that much fun.

water, as in clouds, is the largest contributor to keeping the earth warm.

w/o clouds, the average temp would be something like 50 degrees lower, and there would be no life at all.

(actually, there is some sulfur based life around undersea volcanoes, but that's not about to help us much.)

CO2 and methane (CH4) are the next 2 gases that contribute to warming.

now there are a number of people who claim that the CO2 contribution is so small as to be insignificant.

    however, it doesn't take much.

    consider the following chart:

    http://www.globalwarminglies.com/pics/te...

(posted by global warming lies i might add.

you'll note that over the last 4,500 years the temperature has varied from the norm by a maximum of 0.7 degrees.

and the projected temperature rise in the next few decades is something like 3-8 degrees.)

you'll note that for thousands of years, through both warm and cold periods, the temperature has been pretty constant.

if you live on the west coast, you know that large bodies of water moderate the temperature.

cities along the west coast have the least variation in temperature between summer and winter, because of the pacific ocean.

in the world as a whole, there is a similar effect.

the oceans are absorbing the heat, in very large amounts, but the temperature changes slowly.

"Why do some people feel that global warming has nothing to do with humans or pollution?"

because that's what they want to think.

they're sort of like procrastinators who put off jobs that need to be done until they're forced to do them.

in addition, if use of oil is restricted, then the price will go up even more, and quite a lot of folks don't like that.

(in fact, i'm not real fond of spending a lot of money either.)

here are 2 links that explain the science.

i'd give you a quick description, but it would take some time, that i don't have at the moment.  sorry.

    http://dels.nas.edu/dels/rpt_briefs/clim...  <== here's a good description.

http://www.funnyweather.org/  <== this is a more lighthearted link.

if you're still on the fence, email me, and i'll provide more links, and more description, if you'd like.

  8. CO2 isn't pollution. The problem is that AGW takes funds away from the reduction of real pollutants like SO2.

By the way all the tree huggers should know that the Amazon Rainforest that Sting and the rest cared so much about a while ago is being cut down to plant palm to make methanol.

    Nice work leftards.

  9. AGW is a scam, it is a way to make the rich even richer.

  10. In my opinion yes we are accelerating the process of Global Warming, BUT, I think it's going to happen anyway, no matter what we do.  The Earth has always been in a constant cycle of change... studying back to millions and billions etc years ago it's just a cycle that repeats itself, and it happens that now it's beginning to repeat itself again. It's the way things are and it's how the planet regulates itself.

  11. i guess for several reasons ,some people do not care ,some ignore that ,some feel that it is a natural era or period of time that earth is going through ,some times i like to think that nature will fix this some how ! :)

  12. I don't think it's us who are making the pollution or the ice melt. Maybe pollution, but not the ice because the ice age melted by its self...

  13. my opinion is that even if it's not caused by humans whats the worst that could happen if we act to try to stop it? i mean the worst thing i can think of is that we have to pay a little more for things, whereas if global warming is caused by people and we do nothing to stop it than it could kill much of the wildlife and cause major problems! personally, I'd much rather be paying more and alive than rich and dead. it's basic risk management, determine the worst case scenarios and choose the lesser of two evils.

  14. Most of us quit using aerosol cans because it was breaking down the ozone layer, but we still have a long way to go.

like the poster before me said, the Earth has been around for a long time, and it may well be around a long time after we are gone.

but the question is will we be around for a long time?

while the Earth might get along without us, can we get along with out an environment that is health to us?

isn't it less about protecting the Earth, and more about maintaining a health environment for us, our children, and grandchildren.
