Oral motor activities/games

Question

my son has weak mouth muscles and doesnt talk and hes two ...anyone know of any oral activites I can do with him to strengthen his muscles? He drools alot but is not teething and still mmouths toys and things....can suck or blow...please help!

Straw painting might help if he can blow. Put drops of paint on a piece of paper and have him blow the paint around with a straw. You are going to have to watch him to make sure he doesn't suck it up. Also try blowing bubbles. Since he still mouths toys, it is okay to give him teething rings to chew on at home .Just make sure you keep them clean. try popping them in the freezer, that will feel good on his gums.Good luck.
