  1. Canyon bikes (http://www.canyon.com) ship bikes almost complete: you just have to add the wheels and there you go!

  2. Check your local bike shop, on a cruiser they may be very close on price. And a bike shop will usually offer some service with their bikes. This could make the extra money that you spend very worthwhile.

  3. you have to assemble it your self!

    it comes in this box.

you have to put the chair on by ur self,

    the front wheel,

    mud guards,

    the handle,

and other things, it doesnt even come with all the tools you need to assemble the things you need.

i have done it before and found it very hard.

i advise you to just go to your local bike shop and get one thats ready made. that way you know exactly what your bike is going to be like and sometime its cheeper

  4. yep, you'll be using a wrench for at least partial assembly. do you know what size frame fits you? you may want to head over to your lbs and have them assist you with the right ride. most bike shops offer some sort of service for the first year after purchase. websites don't. thus a bad for first time purchasers..

  5. Bikes are shipped at least partially disassembled so that a smaller box can be used. The degree varies, but you will probably have to install the wheels, install the handlebars, seat and pedals. You will probably have to make a few basic adjustments too.

It's not very difficult, but if you are not comfortable doing this (or don't know someone who could do for you) you should probably buy a bike form a local store. This will also ensure the bike is the correct size, and give you a place to go for the inevitable minor adjustments. Most shops provide these free the first year.

  6. Don,t assemble a bike yourself unless you are very competent with tools, you can kill yourself if you don,t know what you are doing, its not unusual for boxed bikes to have faults not apparent to the untrained eye.

If you buy from www.raleigh.co.uk they will ship it to your nearest raleigh dealer, who will assemble it for you and provide full retailer aftersales, which you don,t get with any other on line seller

  7. Your asking the question suggests that you're worried about whether you can assemble the bike correctly.  If that is so, why not buy from a good bike shop instead of online?  A good shop will help you get a bike that fits your body size and proportions, will assemble it for you and will adjust it if any issues develop once you start riding.  You can't get service like that on the web, can you?
