  1. ha ha, i'm a floor person too, I just start piling stuff.

Sometime during the day (like before you sit down to do your homework) set a kitchen timer for 10 minutes, and run around your room and put everything back where it goes!  It's easy, it's just 10 minutes a day, and you have to challenge yourself to get all done before the timer goes off!  And if you do it for 10 minutes everyday, it never gets really out of hand.  I always have water bottles and stuff all over my desk and my room, so most of 10 minutes is spent getting trash of my desk and bedside tables!  And then it just takes a few minutes to put all the clothes I pulled out to wear each day that I didn't end up wearing and just dropped on the floor.  (and trust me...if you don't put those up everyday it can get waaaay out of hand!)

You should also do it before you start to study because you can study better in a clean organized area.  I know what motivates me is thinking about how much easier it is to get up and walk to the bathroom in the middle of the night when my room is clean and I don't have to worry about stubbing my toes on things!  And when people come over it's not embarassing because my room is usually presentable now!

For my school work, i always had a color for each class.  My binder and notebook thing would be the same color, and it was always fun to file stuff away by what class it was from. History was always green, and math was always pink, because I hated math but I liked pink, i was trying to do some reverse psychology on myself!  We never really used our lockers but on the first day I would always put up my little locker shelves and hang fun pictures of my friends up in them.  Then  wouldn't see it again until the last day of school when we had to clean them out!  So I don't know about lockers.

Have a great school year, and don't forget 10 minutes everyday!  (and yes it makes it way more fun to really use the kitchen timer...you can hear it clicking the time away the hole time your running around your room!)

  2. I'm like that also, school starts in a couple days and my room is a mess xD

Bed Bath and Beyond is a GREAT store for organizers, tubs, shelving, furniture, anything you need! :) i love it there And for school stuff Staples is a good place to get organized

It's a habit to use something and then leave it and say "Oh I'll clean everything up tonight" but that gets overwhelming and you don't do it. try whenever you take something from where it was or use it make sure you put it back, little stuff like that helps a great deal.

Take a few minutes every night and and quickly clean up a little and give yourself rewards like extra computer/TV time, candy, hangin out with a friend, or relaxation time. Studies show that you have trouble sleeping in a room that's cluttered so make sure u clean up every once in a while! Make it fun! motivate yourself, turn on music or TV while you're cleaning, ask a family member or friend to help!

    hope i helped at all

    good luck :)

  3. TRy grabbing an inexpensive book shelf and some cool colored cloth or woven baskets with ot without liners and use those on the shelves to keep things in their place.. but warning if your not going to use them then you will always have clutter on the floor, motivation to put things where they belon is the key to keeping clutter from reigning!!!

Mom of a 5 year old trust me it's not easy
