Question:

Osteopathic manipulation therapy?

I just had OMT done for the first time today and I feel SOOO much better! How long does the feeling last? How often will I probably have to go back to get everything realigned?

The doctor who did the OMT was amazed at how tense my back was and kept telling me to relax....and I already was. He'd never seen someone my age with so much tension and stiffness in their back and neck. I can actually turn my head from side to side with no pain now...it's amazing! I just hope it lasts a while!

  1. Seeing as no one has answered yet, I'll just say that when I have osteopathy I feel super careful afterward to avoid putting it out again and having to go back. I'm not sure why that happens except that the muscles have got used to being in the wrong place so they kind of drag the spine back to the wrong place. That's what I heard and there are other therapists whose name I don't know but they fix spines by manipulating tendons. I've had that done a few times and it also feels great. Usually I feel like I need to see an osteopath once a month but I don't have access to them very easily where I live. Ask your osteopath about all this and I hope you get some good answers.
