Where does the blue-green color of Uranus come from?

What causes Pluto to slip inside the orbit of Neptune?

Pluto has a retrograde orbit

Pluto has an erratic orbit

Pluto has an elliptical orbit

Pluto has a irregular orbit

Triton, the largest satellite of Neptune, is unique because of the way it orbits. What type of orbit does Triton have?

Retrograde

Supersonic

Transverse

Elliptical

Why does Uranus receive such little sunlight?

The atmosphere of Uranus is so thick that the sun's rays can't penetrate it.

Distance from the sun.

The temperature in the upper atmosphere is too cold and blocks the sun.

The blue-green color affects the amount of sun received.

Saturn's rings are a result of?

collisions with meteoroids

naturally occurring satellites that broke apart

atmospheric friction

extremely cool temperatures

  1. 1. Methane which has prominent absorption bands in the visible and near-infrared.

    2. Pluto has an elliptical orbit, more elliptical than Neptune. Pluto is thought to be a body from the Kuiper Belt

    3. Retrograde.

    4. Uranus gets so little sunlight because of distance from the Sun.

    5. Natural satellites that broke apart, or directly out of the original nebular material from which Saturn formed.

  2. Pluto has an elliptical orbit

    Triton has a Retrograde orbit.

The Uranus Distance from the sun is very long.

Saturn's rings are a result of several effects.  Enceladus emits plums of water ice material, which is known to add to the E ring.  Moons collide with small meteoroids. We suspect, but don't have evidence for naturally occurring satellites that broke apart.  So only atmospheric friction and extremely cool temperatures are not a cause for the rings.  I give this question an E.
