Happened in a tournament this morning. My racquet was still soaked from last night I was playing : O. Should I add another over grip? What other ways can I do so my racquet doesn't get so slippery every time I serve.

  1. This is my take on overgrips.  If you are a super sweater, i suggest taking a towel to your matches/practice.

Surprisingly enough, the pros wipe their faces and racquets to remove water and sweat, you should try the same.

This is a relatively obnoxious behavior though haha.  If you dont want to carry a towel around all the time I reccommend these grips for different situations.

    1.  Sweaty Hands - use "tourna grip"....Personally I HATE IT, but sweaty guys love it.  (i never thought i would recomment that grip to anyone lol)

    2. Tacky feel - Gamma Grip 2 - This is what I use.  It has the perfect amount of tackyness to it and is decent with absorbing sweat.

    3. Confort - Wilsons overgrip - its incredibly cushiony and has great feel to it.

I suggest trying these three out and seeing which one works best for you.  You can even cycle through different ones depending on the season, weather, and mood your in!

  2. Try using a thick towel grip or an alternative grip which can resist wet weather. Over grips are designed to be put on before or in between matches and can get dirty and used quite easily.

  3. What kind of overgrip do you use?  I have pretty sweaty hands, and the Wilson H2Overgrip, worked wonders for me.  They still sell them on ebay.  Some folks in the forums suggest using Tourna Grip as a replacement since Wilson discontinued the H2Overgrips.  I bought a large stash before most places sold out.  I figure I have about 2 years worth of overgrips till I have to switch to something else.  Good luck!

  4. I usually have 2 main racquets in identical setups and alternate. What you can do is buy one of those shammy type super absorbent towels and they can soak up the sweat off your grip pretty easily. I also wear wristbands to stop the sweat from my arm trickling down to my hands.

  5. use a towel to dry your hands every time
