This is really an answer to some questions that might come in from people who have pet Goldfish.

In summer the temperature inside a house can reach well over 85F. Generally, cold water fish can cope with this for a short while, but the warmer the water gets, the less oxygen it will hold. Without enough oxygen, your fish will die. So in hot weather it's important to put as much oxygen into the water as you can, usually using airstones or power filters that blow bubbles. The bubbles don't really oxygenate the water, it's the swirling at the surface caused by the bubbles that puts in more oxygen.

Now, this is just as important as oxygenating the water. When changing the water or even just carrying out a partial change, never, ever replace the water you've taken out with cold tap water. The temperature difference will kill your fish within minutes. Alway use slightly aired water, the same temperature as you've taken out. Finally, don't forget to add Aquasafe!

Keep your fish happy!
