  1. You cannot give them cash. Do you pay income taxes? Because assuming you do - the amount on your paycheck is the amount of your reported wages. That is a pain in the ars for them to correct...

I was overpaid a whole paycheck (US $1000+) and they called me once to resolve it and got my voicemail. I never called them back, because they did owe me a few hundred that I was never going to get. Because it is so much trouble to begin with, they are leaving it alone. Happy me.

  2. I would not bother paying it back as there is nothing that they can do about it ,as it is now their word against yours .

  3. sounds to dodgy! just keep the money and consider it a bonus for all the hard work you have done for them!

  4. Id keep it until I recieved a bill or something on writing.

Their stuff up mot yours to worry about.

Cant help you with sites, but know that I would put the extra cash away for a while and wait to see what they do next.

  5. no chance at the Lyndon House, hes run out of wage packets

  6. forget about it tell them you have spent and they will have to wait for it.but only pay by check when you do.

  7. I would want to be satisfied that I was overpaid and I would want to know that a request for repayment was coming from the company and not your manager.

Then I would only pay by cheque made out to the company and not made out to the manager.

There is always the citizens advice bureau.

  8. Erm, seems a bit dodgy to me. Tell him you dont have cash and you can only pay in cheque. If not go citizens advice for advice about what to do. good luck

  9. That sounds pretty shady on your former manager part.  If you are going to give him the cash I would ask him to sign something in writing that you paid him in full for the of over payment of your wages.  Or I would just call up human resources and tell them that you will mail them a check.

Never pay by cash if you don't have any documents to back you up.

I think I would even tell human resources that your former manager asked for cash.

  10. Do not give cash. Pay by check only, regardless if they ask for cash!  ;-)

  11. Considering this is a legal matter, you need to be able to prove that you have paid this money back.  Write a check and post it in a registered envelope to the payroll/HR department - DO NOT BRING CASH TO YOUR MANAGER - you will have no way to prove in a court of law that you have repaid the money.  If you do have to take cash back in, go in with a full receipt and a friend who can act as a witness and get him to sign the receipt to make sure you have proof.  You're very honest - most people would keep the money safe in the knowledge that a company is not going to go after you for 300 quid.  Just protect yourself.

  12. If you believe that you have been overpaid have them send you a note that fully documents the overpayment. Tell them as soon as you have the letter in hand and if it looks correct you will give them a bank check for the amount. Paying them back in cash is a bad idea. - no proof of payment. Be sure you receive a receipt for the payment.

  13. deff a scam....make sure you HAVE been overpaid then write a cheque in the COMPANYS NAME,not the bosses...
