Ovulate after having a baby?

How many days after having a baby do u ovulate?

i'm not sure ,but just to say, i had my first son in july of 2000,and had my second son one year later , on the same day as my first son. so i know it's not long after haveing a baby that you ovulate again. !!!

I agree with milkmaking momma. For the majority of women, you wont start ovulating until your body stops producing milk. If you breastfeed, then it will take longer. Some women I know have had periods while breastfeeding, and when I started weaning my son, I started my period, even though I was still nursing a couple times a day. if you are concerned about getting pregnant again, you can use birth control. Besides condoms, there is the "mini pill" which is a progestrone only pill, which is safe for the nursing mom, and no side effects.

It is different for everybody and depends a lot on if you breast feed

why do want to know? You really shouldn't have s*x for a while after you have a baby...

I know someone who got pregnant like a week after they had their first baby (the kids are 10 mos. apart), but they say its usually about 6 months, sometimes up to a year or 18 months
