  1. Your best bet is to contact HAL Rotorwing academy in India

    http://www.hal-india.com/helicopter/trai...

Qualifications for Private Helicopter Pilot's Licence (PHPL) are as follows:

Age: Not less than 17 years on the date of application for DGCA licence. Allowing for the course duration, the student may not be less than 16 1/2 years on the date of joining the course.

Educational Qualification: Pass in Class 10 or its equivalent from any recognised Board.

Medical Fitness: Medically fit as certified by a DGCA empanelled doctor or Medical Establishment for issue of Student Pilot Licence prior to commencement of the flying training.

CHPL will entitle a candidate for employment with Scheduled and Non Scheduled Operators (Commercial).

PHPL will entitle a candidate for employment on helicopters owned for Private Purposes (non commercial).

    Ground Training:

As a prerequisite for CHPL or PHPL, the students should pass written examinations in Air Regulations, Air Navigation, Aviation Meteorology, Technical (aircraft and engines) and Signals subjects as per the syllabus prescribed by the DGCA. The Academy will coach the students on these subjects. Passing of the ground subjects is necessary before one qualifies for issue of  Pilot’s Licence by the DGCA besides completion of the flying training.

    Flying Requirement:

As per the existing regulations, a student for CHPL shall satisfactorily complete  not  less than 150 hrs of flight time. Provided that a holder of Commercial Pilot’s Licence on Aeroplane (CPL) or higher licence and who has satisfactorily completed not less than 500 hrs of flight time as Pilot in Command (PIC) on aeroplane, shall require to complete not less than 30 hrs of flight time on helicopter.

A student for PHPL shall satisfactorily complete not less than 40 hrs of flight time. Provided that a holder of CPL who has satisfactorily completed not less than 300 hrs of flight time as PIC on Aeroplane shall require to complete not less than 20 hrs of flight time on helicopter.

The flying hour requirement is subject to change with change if any, in the Aircraft Rules.

  2. Yes, I have the same wish too-  to own a private helicopter. Money is an essential requirement. You can just get the licence from a training school. But I fear that you will not be able to roam with a helicopter in the India's urban skies. There are certain criterias. Try hard to get your love.
