Hi, I'm going to be in and around london for 5 days travelling to london then to uxbridge, back to london, to bexleyheath then back to london (with a trip to Milton Keynes in the middle lol).

Am I right in thinking I am best off getting an oyster card rather than buying tickets? Anyone got any suggestions? I see you can order cards online now too is this a reliable method of getting one?

  1. Yes, you will be far better off using an Oyster card. You could wait until you arrive to buy the card (£3), but you would have to wait in a queue. Much better to buy it in advance.

When you are finished with it you can sell it back to TFL, to get the £3 deposit back if you really want to.

  2. Yes definitley get an oyster card -  it saves money & time.

you can get one easily when you arrive by visiting one of the Hundres of shops that sell them and top up cards

you can also get a Barclaycard with Oyster on it ( probably other cards too)

  3. yes indeed an oyster card is the thing to get.

You can get them all over London very easily. Don't bother trolling the net just pop into a shop and get one!

No need for thanks. I am here to help

  4. Yes, Oysters are great. They are very easy to get and to load up with money. If you are planning to use the tube more than once or twice definatley plan on getting one.
