PRIDE AND PREJUDICE MoVIE QUESTION?

Question

ok so i have to read pride and prejudice for school for my ap class...but i really don't have the time to read because i have been studying for the ACT'S. plus is extremely boring. i got to chapter 14 and cant take one more minute of it.so i have read alot about the BBC 1995 version of the novel which is 5 hours long... something i do not mind as long i get the book in a movie. so.... i want to ask you all what do you think about the BBC version. if you read the novel what is different and would you recommend the BBC version. and if i do watch the movie will i be well of????

p.s no bs with the whole reading the book is a must. no time here!

I have never seen the BBC version.  But I do know that the book and the newer Pride and Prejudice has very many differences in it.  It is a pretty good book though, when you do find time later its a nice book to read.  Good luck.

The movie (either of them) follows pretty close to the book, you don't get the details, but if you're just looking to get the gist of it, then watching the movie will do.

p.s. Who studies for the ACT???  Just wing it!

I think the P&P 1995 version is an extremely good one.  The whole thing is well acted & does not stray too far from the book.  Of course, there's Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy - overnight sensation/heartthrob at the time of its' broadcast    

Then go back and read the book ....    :)

Yes, if you dont have enough time then watching the BBC version will give you a good idea of the book. Its 100% better then the newer version, more detail, better communication and explains everything very well. You get to understand the emotions and situations that each character is in. Although its not as good as the book, not much has been left out. If you do get a chance, then do read the book, otherwise, the BBC version explains it well.

for the record i don't approve of what you are doing. the bbc version is all right but a bit unclear on some of the aspects of the book. quite frankly u might as well get a set of cliffs notes or something.
