PSP Slim Buttons Help?

Why did sony make the new psp slim arrow buttons soft, its like mushy, and it can move around a bit, its not as semstive either, the fat psp had really firm buttons that didnt move around, and was very sensitve?

AND do the buttons on the psp (dircetional) get weaker after playing alot of games?

and can i replace them to make thewm firmer again?
