UMD's only feature 1.6GB of memory, which to me seems like well.. c**p. can sony increase this? if so, why haven't they, surely game developers will be able to make better games with more memory. so can sony actually increase this? and if they why haven't they done it yet?

  1. Relax. Tell me, how much can a dual-layer or dvd9 (movie DVDs)  hold? if you dont know, well, its 8.5GB. Compare the size of the DVD9 with the UMD. It's just proportional right? Now, many GB can a blu-ray disc hold? if you dont know, it's between 25-50GB. Now, if you want Sony to increase the capacity of a UMD, they would have to make something like a small or mini blu-ray disc to make it at least 10-20GB capacity. But what is the catch? They will have to redesign the PSP and put a blu-ray reader in it. Which means, you have to get a new PSP unit for a higher price. But if you want Sony to put an internal HD on a PSP with 40 or 80GB capacity... then it would contradict it's name. PSP means PlayStation Portable. What is portable with a 40GB HD? Think before you complain. Or at least try to know what you are talking about.

  2. Probably not. Not with UMDs as they are. I've read that they have 1.8 GB of memory. Either way 1.6GB or 1.8 GB of memory isn't that bad - they have some great games on PSP. They may not be as good as the PS3, but this is a portable system. It can only handle so much, but they have already improved the system (PSP slim and Lite) so I'm sure at some point they'll improve data compacity if they can, although it will be more likely to happen if they bring out another handheld console.
