Question:

PSYCHOLOGIST RESPONSIBILITY ?

I am in the process of becoming a surrogate, I went and finished my psych eval and MMPI test 2 weeks ago. The psychologist was supposed to send over the report to the surrogacy agency last week and has yet to do it, I called this morning and talked to the receptionist who basically said he would get to it when he gets to it..... That report is the only thing we are waiting on to do contracts, he was paid good money for his services and I am now basically getting brushed off. Is there anything I can do.

  1. Off the top of my head, I would say he obviously owes you a report.  However, if a deadline wasn't agreed-upon in advance, I'm not sure he is violating any laws.  Ethically, one would hope that informing him of the time-sensitive nature of the report would jump-start his interest in wrapping it up.

  2. Two weeks is not a long time to complete a psychological report.  So, as frustrating as it is, you may need to be patient.  If things go on a lot longer, you could complain to the licensing board which regulates psychologists in your area.  In North America, there is such a board in each state or province.  But hopefully, the report will arrive soon.
