I'm a thirteen year old girl and I really want to get 6:59 for my mile time. My best so far is 7:08. How fast should I run each lap (its a high school track)?

  1. run about 115s for the first 3 laps and go all out for the last one should break 7.

  2. Well you should probably run the first three laps at about the same time...about 100 - 111 seconds each. then the last lap should be a little faster...just try to run as fast as you can. at around 90-100 seconds...HOPE I HELP!

  3. You should figure out who run close to that time and run with them the whole race. You should always run with someone faster than you until you are the fastest and then you run alone.

  4. try to draft if thier is alot of wind, don't be afraid to take risks.

  5. try running 1:25 the first lap

    then 1:30 the second

    then 1:40 the third

then whatever's left for the last one

  6. All I can say is to pace yourself and really kick it up at the last lap! Anything can happen on the last lap so don't give up! There were a few times where I've been in third or fourth and I've kicked it up on the last lap and came in first. Also, if you plan on passing someone I would recommend doing so on a straightaway.

    Good luck!!
