Ok, sorry if this sounds stupid.

I'm moving, I'm using a movie company. How do I pack strange items like mops, brooms, curing rods? I don't have any boxes that are long enough and I want to cover them with something.

Thanks in advance.

  1. I would put all of those long items together, then tape or tie them all up so that they are secured all together.

  2. Do you have a vehicle?  Usually some of these things are thrown in the vehicle and off you go

  3. I have recently had a moving company move us twice in the past 2 years. Ha ha I had to pack everything myself too. We used Paxton Van Lines...As far as mops & brooms,we just put them in the trash cans. We used blankets to cover a lot of items, and the company that is moving you should be happy to drop off boxes to you. We did not know this information, but call the company or the contact person in charge of the move & tell them you need boxes. We actually got 4 sizes of boxes, packing tape, & also some packing paper as well !! it was a huge help & that was thesecondd move. We did not get all this with the first move. If only I had known, just the one phone call made a world of difference. Good luck to you & have a GREAT MOVE = )

  4. you could cut open a box and roll the cardboard around the items making a tube, then taping it closed, that's how I shipped some curtain rods.
