  1. It's going to depend on your interests, transport and how far you want to travel...

I must admit, beautiful as Padstow is, it's a little out on a limb: better as place to visit than as a base to see the rest of Cornwall.

Coast walks, the ferry over to Rock, the Camel cycle trail up to Wadebridge.

Further afield, Newquay has its attractions, but will be swarming with people.

Or (given the weather) pack a picnic and walk up Brown Willy. That won't be crowded.

Steam trains in various places for those so interested...

The Eden Project?  Various impressive National Trust hosues and gardens...

  2. It will be a challenge to find anywhere uncrowded at this time of year, but It is also a challenge worth taking on, first of all get a couple of OS maps, get in the car and head for a secluded beach, get lost in country lanes, discover villages that time forgot, if your really good at this you will find a beach with nobody on in the middle of nowhere, that is absolutely beautiful, within 10 miles up or down the coast from where you are staying, stock up with a picnic for the day, and make your camp, enjoy the sunset and get lost on the way back as well! I'm not going to tell you the deserted beaches and coves, it will spoil the fun of finding them for yourself. You might discover a bit of real Cornwall along the way. (please take your rubbish home). (cost for 2 adults and 2 kids 0.00 pence)

  3. It will be absolutely HEAVING!!!! The trouble is with Cornwall, people who don't live here only know the popular resorts like Newquay, Padstow, Lands end, Polperro, Looe, and Tintagel. Cornwall has some beautiful "hidden" gems, that are much more beautiful, yet half as discovered, and it's up to the people who live here to guide people to the places that are much more worthy of a visit. If you like forcing yourself through hoards of other holidaymakers, queueing for half an hour for a pasty,or fighting for a spot on a crowded beach, then stay in Padstow, (or one of the other mentioned resorts.) If you want somewhere MORE gorgeous, more scenic, and less crowded head for Polruan, Lerryn, Lansallos beach, Mevagissey, Fowey,

Not many people have heard of the places I have pointed out, but 99% come back again, and again, as they are smaller, less comercialised, and WORTH a second visit!!!!

Look up the resorts I have pointed out on the map, and I promise you will be back!!
