I'm 19 yrs old girl. About a month ago, I felt I had a pea-sized bump under my left armpit. I couldnt see it, but I could feel it and it was painful. It was gone in less than two days. Yesterday I got another one on my RIGHT armpit. I noticed last night, and Its almost gone today. What could this be? and why does it last only a couple of hours? Should I worry?

  1. You probably should get it checked out.  There are glands and lymph nodes under the armpts and they could possibly be blocked or irritated.

It could be swollen too.  But if it is swollen that most likely is a sign of infection.  I would say for you to get it checked out - even though it is probably nothing.  Go to a dermatologist or a GP

  2. cyst? or it could be more so no harm in calling your doctor

  3. one word a mole

  4. I wouldn't be terribly worried. It could be a swollen lymph node but generally they don't hurt - so my second "guess' is an ingrown hair.

If it happens again call your doctor and be sure it's nothing to worry about.

  5. no it was probably nothing

  6. the location of the lumps in your armpit makes me think its something to do with your glands. it could just be an inflamation of the armpit gland or sometimes you even get small lumps under your armpit from things like spraying deodrant too close to the skin! if the lumps are only lasting for a few hours then i doubt it is anything too serious but it might be worth going to see a doctor about if you keep getting similar lumps. in the mean time i suggest that if you use an aerosol deodrant you switch to a roll-on, or if you arent going anywhere, dont apply deodrant at all as this will give your glands a chance to 'breathe'

  7. It could be just a swollen lymph node. I wouldn't worry since they go away..........
