Question:

Painted letters for nursery wall...?

I am painting the letters in the baby's name for a baby shower. My question is this... originally I planned on painting the letters solid colors and then getting a cute patterned ribbon to attach to each side of the letter, tie in a bow, and hang them on the wall. Well, I have run into several problems with the ribbon... I can't find a pattern that I like or that goes with the nursery, I can't figure out the best way to attach ribbon, and I can't get the ribbon to lay straight when I try to hang it on the wall. Should I paint the letters in patterns and use a solid ribbon? That would solve the color/pattern issue. Ideally, I would like to find another way to attach the letters to the wall. Many people have suggested mounting or double sided tape. Will that damage the wall? If I use that option, should I type up directions and include the tape in the gift? Any other suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks for your help and ideas!!!

  1. I think that patterned letter with solid ribbon would be good..........you can find like the mounting things that are on picture frames to hang them at like a hardware or craft store.......then they just have to put a nail in the wall for each letter......not any different than hanging them by the ribbons.

    Good luck!!!!
