Painted turtles?

Hi, I was wondering how do you tell where a painted turtle lays its eggs is there a little mound from them or is there a indent in the ground? these turtles lay eggs on a dirt road and they get run over after the mother barries the eggs. So the mother lays its eggs and burries the eggs thats when i want to know how to tell where they are after they burry the eggs so any way you can help would be nice thanks bye.

  1. you will see her tracks. there will be a lot of strewn dirt around the area and there will probably be an indent. i dont think they'd leave a mound....

    however, you can only move the eggs RIGHT AFTER the female lays them. if you move them a few days after she lays them then they will all die, sadly enough. you must do it before they attach themselves to the wall of their shells. however, you can move them after a period of 30 days if you do it very, very carefully!
