Im going to paint "RED SOX" in the standard Red Sox font on my bar top. I plan on using masking tape and printing off the logo on my printer then cutting it with an exact-o knife. My question is what is the order I should paint it or how would I do it and have the best finish. I want an all blue backdrop with red letters and a white outline. So what would get painted first second and last?

  1. Paint the background first, working to foreground items. So, paint all blue background.  To get the white outline crisp and easy to do, I would paint it next... painting BOTH the outline and the letters (which will later be red) all white.  Then, paint the red letters so they center inside the white you just did.

By painting the red over a white base, you will also get a cleaner red than putting red on top of the blue background.
