Have had a panasonic dvd player (part of a home theater system - model SA-PT950) that until recently played dvds no problem. Then I noticed that the sound would randomly switch from Movie to Music while playing dvds annoying because conversations were more difficult to understand. Then it started freezing occasionally, but usually got past that and continued to play without issues. Now it just won't play many of my dvds.
I set it to "DVD/CD" mode and it begins to read the disc. Then, just before the menu screen pops up, for some unkown reason it switches to "AUX" mode (the mode used when watching tv) and stops the dvd. The only thing I have noticed prior to the switch is that the Dolby surround sound icon flashes in the display of the Panasonic unit. If you restart the dvd, the same thing happens. Any suggestions?
