  1. Fast heart beat, dizzyness.  Numb lips and or fingers, pulse in the head, sweating, feelings of impending doom or that you are losing control.  A feeling of extreme fear.  Sometimes you get disassociative feelings like you are not really in your body.  Tight feeling in chest sometimes.  Stomach ache, diarrhea too.  Lots of symptoms.

  2. I think it is when you think you are going to fail something or someone is going to fail you or no one is going to call you or your not going to get to do something that kinda stuff you know:)

  3. You basically feel like you're having a heart attack.

Your fright, flight, fight senses kick in so your heart pounds, you break out in a sweat, you shake uncontrollably, you experience shortness of breath, you feel weak like you have low blood sugars, and you feel dizzy - usually you have to sit down to calm down.

  4. I had one over christmas. I was in a car. I felt smothered..enclosed. I couldnt breathe my heart was racing. I got very hot very hot. and I had pain in my chest all the way through to my back. I felt completly helpless. I had to close my eyes roll down the window and slowly breathe till it passed. After you have one you stay in a panicked state for a little while which means its easier to have a second one.

  5. I am not sure of all of the symptoms but my symptoms consisted of hyperventilating in  a sense not being a to breathe fast enough for the pace of my heart... uncontrollable crying... shaking... chest pain. Really you could be fine one minute talking and laughing and the next minute its as if something comes over you... crazy feeling...ugh!

  6. okay you litterally feel like you are gonna die. for me i felt like i was having a heart attach and i couldn't breathe and my heart was beating really ****** fast and it would last like 20 minutes. basically i overcame them...i realized...that i cant let somethign thats doesn't even exist get to me like that. u should look them up online and see what else you can do to overcome them and things to do that helps you out of them when youre stuck in one.

  7. I can tell you my symptoms as I have panic disorder.  My heart will race or I will feel like I can't catch my breath.  That alone makes me "panic" more.  I get sweaty hands and break out in a cold sweat, and I experience tunnel vision if it's bad enough.  I just feel like I am not in control of myself and that I am going to lose my mind.  I don't get it very often anymore because I take medication to help the symptoms.  I also only got it when I had to cross bridges or drive in heavy traffic...good luck...try deep breaths and telling yourself that you are ok but definitely have a dr see you if you question anything because it isn't much fun going thru it.

  8. I have been suffering from panic disorder for 5 years.  Everyone can experience different symptoms.  :

    Mine are:

Nausea, dizziness, lightheadedness, hot, sweating, shaking, floor feels like it is moving up and down, trouble breathing, trouble swallowing, extremely fast pulse, pounding heart, feeling trapped, tingling or numbness in face/hands, trembling, feelings of unreality, chest pain.

I actually think I experience most of the symptoms of panic attacks. LOL.

Lots of people feel doom... like you are having a heart attack or are going to die.  If you think you suffer from panic attacks ask to talk to a physciatrist.  They can prescribe you a medication that calms you down within minutes of the panic attack.  They are my life savers!  (I take lorazepam, but there is xanax and valium and others too.)

    Good luck.  Hope this helped.

  9. Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc.

Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI - Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level.

But there are natural ways to do it without medication. There's this strange herb called "St John's Wort" - it is said to be more effective than Prozac. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John's Wort works like prozac. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc.

The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced... you have that "learned behavior" in your mind. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior - Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction... There are several other techniques to help cope them!

Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to....

  10. I agree totally with emily the scientist...I, myself have generalized anxiety and panic disorder along with agoraphobia....I get the fatigue that lasts for days at a time with my anxiety..if Im nervous, or I fight my anxiety too much, I feel like I have low blood sugar...Im not diabetic but that is what it feels like, you can get extreme weakness and a funny weakness that feels like waves of weakness running through your body, mostly your arms and legs....I don't shake too much...if I do, it's mostly my arms will feel jittery and weak...my neck stiffens up as do my shoulders as well, the worst experience with my anxiety disorder is that I have "asthmatic" episodes...I don't have asthma, but I have about 10 or more episodes a day where for anywhere from 5 minutes to an unending episode where I'll have a very hard time breathing..i literally feel like I am breathing through a straw...with my agoraphobia, if I am taken out of my "safe zone" that I have with agoraphobia, I'll have difficulty breathing for the entire time that Im out of my safe zone, the breathing issues are so severe at times that I begin throwing up and it makes my ribs and back hurt badly...I experience this daily and no matter how many times I get them, they are all equally scary as the one prior..I've had thousands upon thousands of panic attacks and I still get scared everytime I get one...Anxiety sucks and unfortunately we all don't get the help we need...I've had anxiety for 5 years now...I didnt develop anxiety until my mid to late 20's....im still trying to find help..but the help I need doesn't come to me because I am agoraphobic....therapist are money hungry greedy a******s, in my opinion...

  11. The symptoms of a panic attack can be identical to heart attack symptoms, or being extremely afraid... Except it happens completely randomly, there is no physiological damage as long as you don't get in a car crash or something.

You also know it's panic attacks if there is absolutely nothing to be afraid of.   Example:  You walk to the ice cream shop with your buddy and there and it's a nice day, and your thinking about this new motorcycle you like PANIC ATTACK!!!!

It's normal to be obnoxiously out of place.  It's treated with some prescriptions and sometimes it's thought people get them from being under stress.
