Question:

Panini Machine Electrical Conversion?

Convert the machine or install a 220v outlet ?

We got a really great deal for our lunch outlet - a panini [pressed sandwiches] machine. But, it is wired for a 220v outlet and all out outlets in a commercial kitchen are house current with ground.

Is it smarter to take the machine to an electrician and hope he can fix it? Or, invest in wiring in the kitchen? We expect to do 30-40 sandwiches per lunch hour.

  1. Invest in the wiring if this machine is going to make serious $$$ for you.

The machine can potentially be converted to 110v or used with a (seriously meaty and bulky) transformer, but it will not be as reliable as running directly off of 220v.
