Parakeet????

Question

how do you make a parakeet talk?? it knows all the basic tricks but he wont talk how????

Not all birds are able to talk.  The best way to help your bird talk is by repetition.  If you want him to say hello then you need to say hello all the time.  His voice might be hard to understand, but eventually you will understand what he is saying.  I have always had the best luck teaching birds things later at night when they are winding down.  That way the birds are more relaxed and able to concentrate better on what you are saying and doing.

Parakeet is beautiful. Some don't talk, just try repeating words around him all the time. Some don't talk. Parakeet is beautiful.

He will talk if you teach him to.

Do not whistle to him - that is his first language.

Teach him Hello by saying it, giving eye contact - many, many times a day.  When you walk into the room where the bird is, say Hello!!!  When you leave say Bye-bye.

If you teach him, he will learn.  Keep it simple. Look at the size of his brain case.

Some never will so don't be too upset. Repeat small phrases to it regularly like "hello" "hi baby"  etc

Once it does say one phrase others will come easier.  Males tend to talk and females don't.
